Dog groomer and Husky owner here. Ignore everyone saying not to bathe your husky because it ‘dries the coat’ or because ‘they’re self cleaning’ these comments are complete nonsense. Providing you’re using quality shampoos and conditioners for dogs, and not human shampoo or dish soap, it’s only going to help your husky. If he/she is itchy, I’d recommend using Douxo S3 Calm shampoo and mousse in between grooms. It’s got natural ingredients that immediately soothe and help to maintain healthy skin. It’s important to thoroughly wash, rinse AND dry your husky. The drying will help with any odour as well. It may be worth contacting a local groomer for help

My vet recommended fish oil for itchy skin. I get the capsules and drip it on their food. The amount depends on the dogs weight. I wouldn’t bathe too often because it dries out the skin.

I’ve used horse main and tail before premixed in a quart container… food allergies usually cause skin issues due to fillers. A good quality brand lamb formula has done well for my dogs in past.

Don’t wash a husky very often if at all unless they’ve rolled in something. Their coats are not the same as other dogs and don’t have much natural oil’s as they don’t need it! As to the dry skin feed them oily fish such as sardines or salmon. I give my girl tinned salmon and sardines regularly. She also loves coconut oil and olive oil

Also add tuna to their diet…the amino acids help keep coat shiny and is awesome for the skin which reduces itch and hot spots

Huskies are self cleaning. Bathe 1-2 times per year at most. Give some form of fish oil supplement. We gave ours these forever and they had the softest coats and were never itchy.

I would recommend change of food and give more fatty meat and olive oil to get the skin moist and wash on any shampoo you have but make sure to blow dry and comb it carefully through as well bcs now they are also changing coats and if the skin won’t be able to breath it starts create yeast and hot spot So if not bathing as an option at least very very good combing through the entire coat to open it and change of food for fatty meat and omegas and less carb filled processed kibbles.
