A homemade diet with supplements. You get to choose what goes into your dog’s food making accommodations to what works for them. I’ve been preparing homemade for mine 4 years 7 months and learned how through well known online holistic vets/dog nutritionists with nothing but positive health improvements. For batches of food I alternate through variety meats, organs, heart, sometimes gizzards, leafy greens, fresh herbs, low glycemic veggies, sometimes butternut squash or canned pumpkin, cranberries or blueberries and calcium source of eggshell powder. Egg added to breakfast every other day, salmon/sardine cluster I make every 4 days as a meal and a cube of homemade bone broth 2-3 times weekly. Not hard to learn how to do it, but there are a few rules to follow to ensure proper nutrition. Meaning a diet of chicken, rice carrots and peas isn’t gonna cut it. Kibble feeders don’t understand that most of these sensitivities and tummy upset is usually due to a dry overly processed food that is not a natural way of feeding. Also if most knew exactly what is in kibble and what is allowed in kibble because it is not a human product would see why it can lead to so many complications, illnesses and disease. Vet and I discuss the diet in detail every year and she approves this diet.
