When a starving blue Pit Bull was spotted wandering around downtown, it was clear that she had been nursing puppies. Concerned for her well-being and that of her puppies, a rescue mission was set in motion. The dog, later named Crown Candy, was hesitant at first but eventually allowed herself to be leashed and taken to safety. The rescue team then went back to locate her puppies that she concealed inside a burrow.

Crown Candy had done an excellent job nursing her babies, and they were found safe and sound. The rescue team carefully gathered the puppies and reunited them with their mother. Crown Candy and her puppies were then taken to Stray Rescue of St. Louis, where they were given the care and attention they needed.

After just a few days, Crown Candy and her puppies were placed in a foster home with Stacy. Their foster mom, who picked up Crown Candy from Stray Rescue Of St. Louis, described her as a friendly dog. Crown Candy was treated to a “pup cup” during her car ride to her new foster home, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

In the foster home with Stacy, Crown Candy proved to be a very affectionate and attentive mother to her puppies. As the puppies grew older and more independent, Crown Candy began to leave them and explore her surroundings. She also became more attached to Stacy, wanting to be by her side at all times.

In just a few more weeks, Crown Candy and her puppies will be ready for adoption. This rescue story is a reminder that all pups deserve a second chance. Thanks to animal rescuers who love their jobs, Crown Candy and her puppies have a bright future.
