My other three dogs stayed with me, providing comfort, but Blue, sensing the urgency, took off towards our camp. It was an incredible distance for him to cover, but he did it.”

“Blue found my brother, and he immediately knew something was up,” Garrett recalled. “They all rushed to the site of the crash. When they saw the wreckage, my brother initially thought I was dead. Deputy Travis Ash arrived at first light, and by then, I had crawled about 75 yards downstream and 15 yards uphill to a more visible spot. The rain had stopped, and when Ash saw me, he said, ‘You’re supposed to be dead.’ But against all odds, I had survived.”
Thanks to Blue’s incredible journey, Garrett’s friends and rescue personnel were able to locate him just in time.
