In the desert of Kuwait, a surprising number of stray dogs and other animals roam the area. They struggle to survive in unbearable temperatures. The barren landscape makes it more difficult for innocent animals to escape the heat and find food and clean water. A dog aptly named Sandy made a shelter for herself and her litter beneath a water tank. Being that she was tan in color and buried herself deep in the sand, she was heavily disguised. People walking past could not see her.

Finally, someone spotted Sandy and called for help. The rescuers arrived quickly, knowing how tough the conditions were. The temperature had reached a stifling 122 degrees! When one volunteer approached, Sandy had no idea what her intentions were and cowered down, lying protectively on top of her babies.

The kind woman reached her hand out, and Sandy hesitantly sniffed it. While she didn’t growl or lash out, she reinforced her stance over her pups. This dog was such a good mother! The woman continuously tried to win Sandy over, hoping she would trust her with her babies. The woman gently reached into the ditch beneath Sandy and picked up one of the puppies.

Shortly after being released, he became overcome by rage and frustration and began violently wailing on his poor, trembling, frightened dog. It's clear that this man's violent tendencies didn't decrease after serving his time.

Once Sandy realized the woman was not a threat, she allowed her to pick all of them up. The woman placed them inside a crate and eventually leashed Sandy and placed her inside, too. By this time, Sandy had flashed an award-winning smile several times, realizing she was finally safe and had someone to help her and her clan.

In the video, you will see that the family was taken to a very special place. This sweet dog and her pups would have never made it on their own if it wasn’t for these wonderful, kind-hearted people. Aren’t animal rescuers the best? To see where Sandy and her family were taken and their dramatic rescue, click on the video below.
