What they found was heartbreaking—her litter was struggling. The mama dog, despite her best efforts, was unable to provide what her babies needed. A closer inspection revealed a leash still around her neck, suggesting she had once been someone’s pet but was abandoned.
The rescuers gently separated her from the puppies to examine them, but the scene was heartwrenching. Only one puppy had survived.
