Some people think Shih Tzus are just fluffy little companions who adore everything you do. That’s adorable and entirely wrong. Behind those big round eyes is a brain constantly evaluating your life choices, especially the ones that involve them. If your Shih Tzu could hold a clipboard, they’d be writing performance reviews. Here’s what earns you a few silent side eyes.

1. Singing Off Key to Them

You think it’s cute when you belt out “Who’s a good boy” in a made up tune. They’re silently thinking you’d never make it past the first round of a karaoke contest. The ear tilt isn’t admiration, it’s disbelief.

2. Wearing Socks with Sandals on Walks

They’ll still trot beside you, but inside, they’re praying no other dog witnesses this fashion crime. Shih Tzus have standards, even if you don’t.

3. Giving Them a Haircut Yourself

You grab the scissors, and suddenly your Shih Tzu is frozen in horror. Fifteen minutes later, they’re walking around looking like they lost a bet. They know the groomer wouldn’t have done them like this.

4. Using Baby Talk in Public

At home, fine. Out in the park, when other dogs are around? That’s social sabotage. Your Shih Tzu will remember, and they will not forget.

5. Serving Late Dinner

You think they don’t know time. They know. The clock strikes six, and if the bowl’s empty, you’ve already failed the day. They’re not mad, just profoundly disappointed.

6. Making Them Wear Costumes

Halloween, Christmas, or just a random Tuesday, you can’t resist dressing them up. They’ll sit for the photo, but the look in their eyes says, “We’ll talk about this later.”

7. Taking Up Too Much Bed Space

You pay the rent, but somehow the bed belongs to them. If you dare stretch out and bump them off their preferred spot, you’ll wake up to a cold stare.

In the end, Shih Tzus love you more than they love judging you. But that doesn’t mean they’ll stop. They’re fluffy little critics, and you wouldn’t have it any other way, even if your karaoke is questionable.
