Valentine’s Day is one of the biggest days of the year to propose. And if you (or your intended!) is a dog lover, why not include your four-legged buddies in your special moment? Here are 15 ways you can involve the dog when you pop the question.

Can’t get better than that!
#2 – Ring Bearer
Train your dog to carry the ring to your future spouse. Not only is it romantic, but it shows you took the time to train the dog – brownie points!

APetsWorld.com had a customer order a fleece jacket with a wedding proposal embroider on the side. Perfect for those proposing in cold climates and it’s something that can be cherished forever.
#4 – Read the Sign
An Etsy crafter has a sign you can put around your dog’s neck to ask the question for you. Or make one out of a chalkboard with a “check yes or no” – how cute would that be? Just be sure to provide the chalk too!
#5 – Holding signs
This man has his kids holding up signs to ask the question. If you live in a multiple dog household, why not do this with them? It just takes a little bit of training and it is sure to impress whoever you are asking.
#6 – Ask Collar
A beautiful collar that later could be used in a wedding shadow box, or even shortened and worn as a bracelet, it’s a great way to include the dog in your special moment. This Etsy artist will even personalize it with your beloved’s name.

#8 – Trail of Treats
Have your dog lead you love to your asking spot by leaving a trail of treats. Put a note by the door instructing them to take the dog for a walk (ask nicely!). It’s a fun way to involve the dog that is sure to surprise them.

Pet Paint’s creator proposed by painting the question on their dog. Now it’s becoming a popular trend for others to do the same.

#11 – Together Tag
Ingrid Greene is a yoga instructor who’s now husband gave her dog a new ID tag – with both names and numbers on it. He presented it to her in the same box her ring came in.
#12 – Set the Scene
Why not use her dogs in the proposal and set the scene for when she gets home? It will take a bit of training if the dogs don’t already have a stay, but the look on her face will be well worth the effort.
#13 – Dog-friendly restaurant
Going out for dinner to pop the question? Take her to a nice restaurant with a dog friendly patio so your dog can be part of the big moment. Attach the ring to your dog’s collar or on a wreath of flowers around their neck.
