Every police officer goes through a ceremony where they are sworn in. During the ceremony, they put their hand up, and they are read an oath which they agree to. After agreeing to the oath, the sheriff would then welcome them to the force by shaking their hand.

So just like a regular police officer, Pilot, the new K9 member of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, was also sworn in. A crowd was there to witness the ceremony, and they cheered for the newest recruit!
