Do you have a dog with boundless energy, or think your pup could lose a few pounds (especially this time of year)? Perhaps a dog gym is the answer!
In Alexandria, Virginia, the Frolick Dogs Canine Sports Club is a vicinity unlike any other. As opposed to an indoor doggy playground or park, Frolick Dogs is designed to help pups expel their energy while learning new skills and obedience.
“We have a full agility course, doggy treadmills and balance equipment,” said co-owner Kim Gilliam in a story by wtop. “[Dogs] really need that structure; they need that mental stimulation to kind of keep them out of trouble.”
While canine club members should have a mastery of basic obedience, the Frolick Dogs staff know that sometimes our pups aren’t perfect, and don’t want anyone to be discouraged from trying the facility.
“We’re here to show you how,” said Gilliam of trying out the gym, in the story above. She added reassuringly, “We’ve seen it all!”
Along with a host of obstacles and sports equipment, the Frolick Dogs offers services like day boarding, training classes, self-grooming, and wellness programs. Plus, they have an expert staff that includes trainers and fitness coaches.
And of course, they offer standard gym memberships for those human-dog duos who just want to come in and “work out” at their convenience.
