Dottie came to Acadiana Animal Aid from a high-kill municipal shelter in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana at the beginning of November 2018. She was a 3-year-old deaf, black and white terrier mix that was heartworm positive.

Acadiana Animal Aid

Dottie stayed with Acadiana through her heartworm treatment and quickly became a staff favorite. Thanks to a grant from GreaterGood.org funded by the iHeartDogs.com community, she was transported from Louisiana to Colorado to find her perfect forever home. Dottie found that forever home within a few days of her arrival. She is now in a beautiful home where her adoptive family loves her dearly. Without the funding for transport to Colorado, Dottie’s chances of finding a local opportunity for adoption were slim. Now despite her handicap, she will live a life of love and care.
