Charlene, a rescuer with Helpaws, came upon a Pit Bull that was so skinny she could fit her hand around his waist. How anyone could let a dog starve like this is beyond comprehension! Even though humans had harmed him in the past, the pup, Charlene named Floki, is trusting and sweet.

The rescuer opened her car door, and the pup hopped right in. He understood that he was finally safe! Floki stuck his head out the car window and happily looked around as they drove to the shelter. Once they arrived, the pooch devoured his first meal. It must’ve tasted like heaven!

Within two weeks, Floki gained enough weight to fly from St. Lucia to Canada, where he had a better chance of finding his forever home. His future looked bright, but then there was a turn of events. Even in Canada, there wasn’t a single adoption applicant for Floki. He was passed by time and time again.

Charlene decided to take Floki out of the shelter for the night so he could be showered with love and affection. She also wanted to capture his true personality on video and post it to the rescue’s social media. Maybe this would do the trick?

Floki jumped up right onto the couch to relax. Once rested, he then got up to play with toys for the first time! He’s such a happy boy despite his past. But sadly, he’s still waiting for his happily ever after. Let’s do all we can for Floki and share this story and video! Together, we can change a life!
