Angels do exist.
We believe that because we have seen the goodness in people. This world may be cruel, but there is still some good left in it. We know that there are evil, cruel people out there–animal abusers, people who neglect and abandon their dogs. But our faith in humanity is restored by wonderful, kindhearted people who go out of their way to rescue and save dogs. And one of those amazing, kindhearted people is this man from Pune, India named Balu.
Balu is just a simple guy who wanted to help animals. He may be simple, but his generosity is extra-ordinary. Because for 10 years, Balu saved up his money not for himself, but to help stray dogs. He used his savings to buy an ambulance for homeless and wounded dogs.
Balu uses his ambulance to take homeless/stray dogs who need medical treatment to the vet. At first he was a little scared of the dogs, but helping animals was his passion.
Other than his ambulance service, Balu also takes care of stray dogs in his home. He is married to a woman who’s also an animal lover and they keep 5 to 6 dogs at home, some with broken legs and paws.
For those dog owners who needed his service, he charges 16 Indian Rupees (that’s $0.24) per kilometer for pick-up and drop-off service. He uses that money to take care of the homeless dogs he keeps in his home.
