Admit it, we’ve all bragged about our dogs at some point. We all think our dogs are the cutest, the smartest, and the most lovable. Of course, all dogs are the cutest without a doubt, but there’s no way to prove precisely how intelligent our furry friends are. That is until Greenies released a doggy IQ quiz.
Now, you can test your dog’s intelligence in just 15 minutes. Plus, you’ll get to spend quality time with your dog in the process. So, is your dog smart enough to get into their dream college?
How Does it Work?
The Greenies’ IQ quiz has three tests: learning, memory, and navigation. All three are quick and easy to complete. Before you start, you’ll need a handful of dog treats, three cups, two chairs, and a blanket.
Each test will ask you to complete an activity with your dog. During the activities, you’ll be asked to either time your dog or fill out the number of times they did an action correctly. This will help determine their overall IQ score.
This test was created in collaboration with Dr. Rosalind Arden, a canine intelligence researcher. She’s a research associate at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and she has been examining dog intelligence for years. However, there is a disclaimer on the quiz saying that this test is “not totally scientific.” Yet, it’s still a great way to bond with your dog and work on their mental stimulation.
Is Your Dog a Secret Genius?
If you think your dog is incredibly smart, now you can have proof. Whether your dog is the next Einstein or just an average pup, you can brag about them by posting a custom badge on social media. You’ll also get a rebate on Greenies for completing the quiz. The amount will vary depending on your dog’s score.
“[Dog parents] know that our four-legged friends don’t always make the best decisions, like thinking your socks are a chew toy or that standing right behind you is a smart place to be,” said Craig Neely, Vice President of Marketing at Mars Petcare. “That’s the idea behind Doggy IQ. We’re offering a fun bonding experience for pets and their [families], while celebrating the quirks that make our dogs lovable and, of course, rewarding them with dollars off our delicious and good-for-you treats.”
Whether your dog gets a perfect score or fails the test, they’ll always be a genius in your heart. Your dog won’t get a college scholarship by taking this quiz, but at least they’ll have fun doing it. After all, quality time with your four-legged family member is one of the most important things in life.
