In a disturbing incident of animal cruelty that has shocked the community in Anaheim, California, a man identified as Joseph Michael Sanders has been arrested following the release of security footage that showed him engaging in violent acts against a small puppy. The incident occurred on April 7 near Brookhurst Street and the 5 Freeway and was captured by nearby cameras.

The footage depicted Sanders carrying the dog to a drainage ditch where he brutally dropkicked the animal. The assault continued off-camera with audible sounds of the puppy’s distressing wails and Sanders’s repeated grunts as he kicked the puppy multiple times.

The Anaheim Police Department responded quickly to this heinous act by issuing an arrest warrant for Sanders, culminating in his arrest on April 18. He faces charges of felony animal cruelty. Despite Sanders’s arrest, the situation remains pressing as the puppy has not yet been found. Authorities are deeply concerned for the puppy’s welfare and are actively seeking information from the public.
