We can’t prevent time from passing us by. No matter how old we get, we hope to do it with grace and poise, but this isn’t always the case for a defenseless dog on the streets. This extremely elderly dog afflicted with mange, malnourished and defenseless, curled his weak frame into a ball and waited to die. He no longer had the desire to live. Time hadn’t been good to him. Not one individual stopped to assist him when he was alive for all those years; instead, they simply drove past him without stopping. They just left him there to endure.

The skinny dog lay on top of a heap of rubbish and tucked himself away, hoping no one would pay attention to him. However, one particular rescue organization didn’t mind that he was ancient or sad or lost. They wanted him to spend his remaining years in a safe environment. As the first volunteer drew near, he stood up and exhibited almost every bone in his body, covered with wounds. He tried to avoid being touched by the rescuer, so he ran away. The most heartbreaking moans emanated from him — they were cries of despair and terror at the same time.
