Once The Runt Of His Litter, He Is Now The World’s Biggest Dog

| Published on December 19, 2016

Freddy the Great Dane has a true “underdog” story!

Once the runt of the litter, 4-year-old Freddy has recently nabbed the title for World’s Biggest Dog!

On his hind legs, Freddy is 7 feet and 6 inches tall, and weighs 14.5 stone, or a whopping 203 pounds! He lives with his littermate Fleur and human Claire Stoneman in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex. There, the two colossal canines are showered with love and affection.

“They are children to me… because I haven’t had any kids. They need me and it’s quite nice to be needed,” Stoneman said, according to Daily Mail. The story also mentions that Freddy love to crash in her king-size bed.

In case you were wondering, caring for these two gigantic Great Danes comes at a cost. According to Daily Mail, Stoneman spends about £12,500 – around $15,500 – on her pups every year. Not to mention, in their puppyhood, the dogs destroyed no less than 23 couches!

Luckily, the playful pair has learned to enjoy the furniture by laying on it rather than eating it, and they have a human who wouldn’t trade them for the world.

Learn a bit more about Freddy and Fleur from this video clip below. (It was filmed when Freddy was 18 months old – he’s grown two inches since!):

Can you believe how much Freddy eats in a week?! You can follow Freddy the Great-Great Dane on Facebook for more gigantic antics!

We want to congratulate the family on Freddy’s new-found fame. We know Ms. Stoneman is one proud pup parent!
