When walker Eric Maus was walking through Prospect Park with clients Gouda and Lily, he came across the most heartbreaking sight. A Pit Bull was tethered to a tree with a note attached.

“Take me home. I’m a great dog. I’m 7 years old. Don’t let my size scare you. I’m sweet.”

The gentle giant remained motionless as Eric approached the other two dogs. She was a wonderful companion and a lovely friend.

On Facebook, a dog walker inquired about what to do if he found a solitary dog in Prospect Park. People responded with ideas of what to do just a few minutes later.

To improve his image, Eric posted a photo of Mamas on a neighborhood Facebook group seeking assistance. And within minutes, responses began to pour in! One Good Samaritan requested that they be picked up outside the park and taken to Sean Casey Animal Rescue in a car. There was a kennel at the animal shelter.

Mamas and the baby girl were walking out of the park when Mamas could not walk at a normal speed. She was sluggish owing to her size and a possible bladder infection. She was taken in for transport back to return for medical treatment, where she eventually relaxed!

Mama must stay through the stray hold period, but after that she will be put up for adoption and given her forever home!

Mamas, on the other hand, is overjoyed to be out of the park and among people who adore and care for her. Whoever adopts this lovely girl will be extremely fortunate!
