Most dogs get excited when they see their humans again no matter how much time has passed. Whether it’s a few seconds or a few hours, dogs act as if you’ve been gone for days. Plus, the longer you’re gone, the more exciting your return will be. So, Ana Radionova knew her dog’s reaction after 7 months apart would be priceless.
Sure enough, the German Shepherd mix named Bear was overjoyed to see his mom after spending a half year without her. A heartwarming video proved that dogs still love us and recognize us no matter how much time has passed.
7 Long Months
Radionova rescued Bear when he was just a young puppy. He had been saved from an inhumane breeder, who had allowed his tail to become incredibly injured with no treatment. Radionova suspects that it was due to frostbite. After all, the breeder would leave the dogs outside in the freezing cold for long periods of time. But thankfully, Bear was soon rescued from there and shown what a loving home was really like.
Bear quickly bonded with Radionova, and the two became best friends in no time. Just hearing her voice or smelling her scent was enough to brighten his day. But life doesn’t always go as planned. Radionova was faced with a situation where she had to be away from Bear for 7 months straight. It’s unclear what the exact reasoning was, but at least she had loyal friends and family to look after the pup while she was away.
While she was gone, she made sure to check in with Bear often. She even did video chat sessions with him, and he would whine at the sound of her voice. He clearly missed her very much, and she couldn’t wait to get back to him. Luckily, all that time apart made the reunion even more heartwarming.
Reunited Again!
When Radionova finally returned home, she made sure to record the reunion. She posted it on Reddit so the world could see. Like all dog reunion videos, it really pulls at heartstrings.
At the start of the video, Radionova enters her backyard, looking for Bear. He’s nowhere to be found. She keeps looking and eventually sees him exiting the house. He seems hesitant at first, but he slowly approaches her. It’s as if he thinks it’s just a dream.
Next, the pup sniffs his mom. The more he sniffs her, the more he realizes that it’s not a dream at all. His mom is really home! He bounces around and yips to show his excitement. It took him a minute to realize what was going on, but he soon figured out that it was the moment he had been waiting for.
Bear eventually runs back into the house and returns with a ball in his mouth. He presents it to his mom as if it’s a welcome home present. He might not have much to offer, but he knows his human deserves the best. The ball is clearly his favorite toy, so it doesn’t get much better than that.
Reddit users quickly fell in love with the adorable event. Many other dog parents could relate to the dog’s excitement, especially since their own dogs get excited every time they come home. Dogs are just so loyal and they will never stop showing us how much they love us. We truly don’t deserve these wonderful four-legged creatures.
