Gary, an Army Veteran, bravely served our country, and while doing so, suffered several service-connected injuries. He had a hard time leaving the house and could not even enjoy being out with his wife because he was never at ease and continuously hyper-vigilant. As soon as Gary met his service dog, Sarai, everything changed.

Sarai, found as a stray, entered into the Canines for Service dog training program and excelled through training. It was evident she truly thrives on having a job and seemed to know she was going to be serving a greater purpose. Since their partnering several months ago, Gary and Sarai have proven to be the perfect match.

“My wife and I recently took a trip to Gettysburg. I felt safe and free to explore everything with Sarai by my side. Sarai does almost all of her skills without even being asked. I am sleeping so much better, and I do not feel on edge. At a VA appointment recently, she did a command to help me when someone got too close to me. She is so good for me.”
