GreaterGood is an incredible organization that helps give shelter dogs the supplies they need as they await their forever homes. Many dogs have gone on to live an incredible life thanks to these generous donations. One of those dogs is Gracie.

Gracie was found in a ditch in Missouri on the verge of death. She fed off an old deer carcass from hunting season because that was the only nourishment she could find. Poor Gracie was all skin and bones. If she stayed alone any longer, she would’ve likely died of starvation. Luckily, Heartland Humane Society found her, and they refused to let that happen.

On top of being emaciated, Gracie also had a hip injury. This made walking difficult for her and likely painful as well. The humane society took her in and gave her the space she needed to heal. Her personality was so kind and gentle that they knew they had to name her Gracie.

Plenty of rest and healthy food helped Gracie’s hips slowly heal. It also helped her build strong muscles to the point where her bones were no longer visible. Soon, she looked like an entirely different dog, and most importantly, she looked happy. Once she fully heals, it’s clear that she’ll find a forever family in no time.

GreaterGood’s Rescue Bank program donates food to the animal rescue community to keep the dogs in their care healthy. They helped pay for Gracie’s healthy new diet, which allowed the shelter to use their money on medical care without having to worry about food costs. So, those donations greatly helped Gracie recover.

“This beautiful girl thanks us every day for helping her, and, in turn, we thank you every day for giving us the means to help her. Soon she will be looking for a forever home where she will never have to worry about searching for food again,” said Heartland Humane Society.
