At just two to three years old, he had already endured more than any dog ever should.

He has already begun treatment and will remain under BARK’s care until he tests negative for heartworm disease, which will take time and careful monitoring. Despite these challenges, Deacon is showing remarkable resilience.

Now safe in a loving foster home through BARK, Deacon is beginning to rediscover what it means to be a dog. He is eating well, gaining weight, and slowly regrowing his coat.
