For 18 at-risk dogs in North Carolina, a brighter future began with a flight.
On Sunday, September 27, The Nightmare Before Halloween Rescue Flight carried these precious passengers from North Carolina to safety in New Jersey. Made possible by iHeartDogs Hero VIP Club members, generous shoppers, and donors, the flight marked a lifesaving partnership between iHeartDogs and Pilots To The Rescue.
With shelter kennels full and space running out, these dogs urgently needed somewhere to go. Thanks to your support, they now have the chance to leave uncertainty behind and begin the next chapter of their lives.
You Helped Turn an Overcrowding Crisis Into a Rescue Mission
Shelter overcrowding puts enormous pressure on animals and the people working to protect them. When every kennel is occupied, even finding room for one more dog can become a desperate challenge.
That was the crisis behind this mission. Eighteen dogs needed a way out, and rescue partners in New Jersey offered a path toward safety, continued care, and eventual adoption. Pilots To The Rescue provided the flight that connected them.
Your support helped make that connection possible. Through Hero VIP Club membership, purchases, and direct donations, the iHeartDogs community helped power a journey that gave these dogs somewhere safe to land.
Among the passengers were survivors of neglect and puppies who had already endured more than any animal should.
Beasley’s Journey From Neglect to a Brighter Future
Beasley’s story began with severe neglect, but compassionate foster care helped change her life.
With dedicated caregivers supporting her recovery, this sweet survivor began to thrive. Her transformation gave her a foundation for a new beginning, and the rescue flight helped carry that progress forward.
Beasley’s destination was Jersey Girls Animal Rescue, where her journey toward a loving forever home could continue.
For a dog who had already come so far, transportation was another essential piece of her rescue. Her foster caregivers helped her heal, the receiving rescue offered her next opportunity, and supporters like you helped bridge the distance between them.
Pia and Pace Survived. You Helped Them Move Forward.
Puppies Pia and Pace survived a tragic hoarding case in which many others did not make it.
Their young lives had begun in heartbreaking circumstances. After beating those odds, they needed the opportunity to grow up with the love and care every puppy deserves.
The flight brought them to New Jersey, with Peyton’s Safe Haven as their receiving rescue. There, they could continue their journey toward loving forever homes.
Their survival was the beginning. Your support helped make the next step possible.
Eighteen Safe Arrivals, Eighteen New Chances
Beasley, Pia, and Pace represent just three of the lives changed by this mission. Each of the 18 passengers has a story, and each deserves a future beyond the overcrowding crisis they left behind.
Their arrival in New Jersey also helped relieve pressure on the North Carolina shelters caring for dogs still waiting. Moving animals to receiving rescues creates room and gives overwhelmed caregivers more space to help.
For these 18 dogs, the flight is complete. Their journeys toward forever homes are still unfolding, but they are now safely on the other side of a critical step.
To our iHeartDogs Hero VIP Club members and everyone who purchased or donated: thank you. You helped turn an urgent plea into a completed rescue mission. Because you showed up, 18 dogs have new opportunities for care, comfort, and families of their own.
