No one knows where Ginger came from — but it was so clear that she needed help.

Found wandering the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, Ginger was starving and emaciated when kind rescuers spotted her.

She had such poor nutrition that she had painful mange all over her body. She wouldn’t have survived long if it hadn’t been for the people who found her.

After being rescued, Ginger was brought to New York City through Posh Pets Rescue. The group has helped her battle through the mange and poor nutrition — and now she is happy, healthy and looking for her forever home.

“Ginger [is] a chi mix with the best ears, adorable personality and a bunny hop when she walks,” rescuers posted on Facebook about the pooch.

Ginger is a young dog looking for a home preferably with another dog since she loves to play.

Thanks to Greater Good Charities Rescue Bank, which supplies food to shelters in need, Posh Pets Rescue is able to feed Ginger and other dogs at the shelter.

“Rescue Bank has an unbelievable impact on us as we rely on food donations to feed all the animals,” the rescue said. “Without this food, we would not be able to save as many as we do, and it enables us to spend on vetting for the many suffering and sick animals we rescue like Ginger.”
