UPDATE: Man Who Abused Caitlyn The Dog Pleads Guilty

| August 11, 2016

It’s hard to forget the image of Caitlyn that circulated the internet in May of 2015. She’s the pup whose muzzle was bound with electrical tape, wrapped so tight that her tongue protruded from her swollen mouth and turned black.

The horrific image was heartbreaking to see, but sparked worldwide awareness of the epidemic of animal cruelty, along with a huge lack of laws pertaining to animal rights.

Caitlyn’s abuser is 42-year-old William Leonard Dodson of North Charleston, South Carolina. After admitting to the vile mistreatment of the pup, he’s facing a prison sentence of 6 months to 5 years, plus a $5,000 fine.

Watch the news clip below:

WBRC FOX6 News – Birmingham, AL

Caitlyn has been living in a loving foster home since being rescued following the incident, and is a healthy pup. Her foster family is still working with her to resolve some emotional issues stemming from the trauma.

However, this brave dog is a fighter, and has paved the way to helping end the cycle of abuse towards animals. Caitlyn, we’re rooting for you!
