With Your Support, Paisley Went From Starving To Thriving

| Published on October 6, 2021

iHeartDogs works closely with Greater Good Charities by donating part of each sale to their various charity efforts. One of these programs, Rescue Bank, works to donate quality dog food to shelters and animal rescues in need. Some organizations could not run without kind donations like this, so by supporting us you’re making happy endings like the ones below possible!

When Paisley was found on the streets in December of 2020, she could barely move. The poor thing was so emaciated and had painful open wounds. Paisley was virtually at the end of her rope.

Thankfully, Code Red K9 Crew took over her care. The Southern California rescue focuses on bully breeds and “the underdogs.” Code Red K9 Crew made sure Paisley received the medical intervention she needed right away.

Same Dog, Whole New Life

Having people in her corner made a huge difference for Paisley. Still, the injured and malnourished dog had “a long road of healing ahead of her.” Paisley spent months gaining strength while she received daily wound care.

Paisley toughed it out to become the best version of herself. According to the rescue group:

“She overcame impossible odds, but with the right nutrition, thorough medical care and complete commitment, she made a full recovery.”

Paisley Gains Her Strength And A Family

Given consistent medical care and nutrition, Paisley transformed from the weak, ill dog rescuers found in December. She’s now stronger and happier than ever, having found her forever family.

This photo shows the new and improved Paisley with her family on the beach in Souther California. She now gets to visit the ocean every day with her humans and dog sibling.

Can you even recognize that skinny, sickly dog first taken off the streets a year ago? It just goes to show the importance of a proper diet, and rescuers who care.

How Rescue Bank Works

As an animal welfare organization that benefits from Rescue Bank donations, Code Red K9 Crew was able to provide Paisley with the nutritious food that revitalized her. Plus, the money non-profits save on pet food allows them to allocate their funds towards other important aspects like medicine and training.

Code Red K9 Crew shared:

“We want to thank Rescue Bank for allowing us to save dogs like Paisley and offer them healthy and happy lives. Good nutrition is vital for all dogs, but especially dogs with medical needs.”

Rescue Bank operates on a national food bank model. When nutritious pet food nears its “best by” date, has minor packaging defects, or is being re-branded, manufacturers will donate that food to Rescue Bank. Then, Rescue Bank makes food grants to community-based animal welfare groups.

When you shop eligible products on the iHeartDogs.com store, you’re also donating to Rescue Bank so they can help change the lives of dogs like Paisley.
