One of the most popular designer dog breeds was developed in Australia by a breeder looking to produce a hypoallergenic, easy-going breed that would be a suitable companion for those with allergies needing guide dogs. The original breeder has since stated he regrets mixing the breed, although service and guide dog organizations do take the breed into their programs.
