10 Reasons To Invite Your Dog This Thanksgiving

| November 27, 2014

As you prepare for this Thanksgiving, you may be wondering, “What should I do with my dog?” Some may even be planning on “banishing” him to a spare room while company is over. Here are 10 reasons you should set a place at the table for man’s best friend.

#1 – They are Eager to Help

Not sure if something tastes right? No worries, your do will happily help out as the official taste-tester. Be warned, he doesn’t have the best tastes, his last meal came from the litter box.

#2 – They are Willing to Share

They have no problem giving you a bite of their dog food…as long as you give them a bite of your turkey. After all, share and share alike, right?

#3 – They Know How to Greet Relatives

Nobody greets relatives better than a dog. You may have a hard time forgetting about the comments your sister made about last year’s stuffing being too dry. Your dog doesn’t hold grudges – everyone will get the same amount of kisses from him.

#4 – They Love Football

Worried no one else will want to watch the game? At least the dog will be on your side.

#5 – They are Always Respectful

They don’t mind eating after everyone else has been served. Just as long as they get a little bit of everyone else’s plate.

#6 – They Have Proper Manners

Well, at least they try to. Most will sit as close as they possibly can without actually getting on the table. At least, until no one is looking.

#7 – They Love Leftovers

Worried you made too much or got too big of a turkey? Don’t worry, your dog will take care of that.

#8 – They Help Clean Up

That’s right. Your dog will happily make himself useful by licking plates clean. No need to rinse.

#9 – They Value a Good Nap

Your dog will be the perfect cuddle buddy as you slip into the inevitable turkey-coma.

#10 – They Know how to Show Thanks

No one understands unconditional love and gratitude like a dog. We could all learn more about saying thanks and being grateful from our four-legged friends.
