A recent study showed the average dog owner spends close to $3,000 a year on each dog. I bet many of us spend a lot more than that on our dogs, treating them better than we do ourselves. If that’s you, then you are going to love the following hacks, which will help you save money while still spoiling your dog.
#1 – Dilute shampoos
Did you know that almost all dog shampoos/conditioners are made to be diluted? That means you’re throwing money away if you are simply putting it in your hands and directly on the dog. Instead, go to a dollar store, get a pitcher, and start diluting your shampoo and conditioner. It will save you a ton!
#2 – Turn old clothes into new beds

Whatever if it is, it’s worth it since you have to buy dog food, anyway!

If you pay for baths, stretch out the time between grooms to save you money by using waterless shampoo or bath wipes to keep your pup smelling fresh.
#13 – Dehydrator
While you do have to pay for the initial dehydrator, after that you can make your dog all kinds of treats at a fraction of the cost. I find that for most treats, it costs me less than half of what they charge at the pet store. I own an Excalibur dehydrator and love it.
