Meet Clark Park Bobby, “Bobby” for short. Would you adopt him?
An overgrown puppy, he is living in a park with no family to care for him.
He represents an important issue within Houston’s stray dog problem – and other cities around the country.
“Bobby lives in Clark Park, alone, mangy, wanting to be loved,” says Tom McPhee, Executive Director of the World Animal Awareness Society and American Strays series Producer & Director.
He is taken care of by compassionate women who break the law by feeding him but would any one adopt him if he was brought in from the streets?
“What happens to un-adoptable dogs on the streets?” asks McPhee.
Martha Vasques is leading the mission to confront this problem head on at Clark Park. She leads a group of volunteers who are working on educating the surround neighborhood on responsible pet ownership, including spay and neuter practices.
She is also caring for Bobby and the other strays already living on the streets.
“During the WA2S film cre visit she used her own home remedy on Bobby’s mange,” says McPhee. “She’ll be back to treat him at least two more times.”
Vasques’s hope? That a foster, rescue or even a permanent home will step up for Bobby.
As you can see, Bobby is fine with human contact and interaction.

The Fear? That Bobby will be picked up and used as a bait dog for dog fighting.
