Couple Thought They Lost Their Dog In The House Fire–Only To See Him On TV Months Later!

A couple who thought they lost their dog in a house fire got the shock of their lives when they saw him alive on TV.

Gage the Pit Bull came to the Humane Society of South Mississippi (HSSM) on October 27th, 2015 as a stray. His body was covered with 3rd degree burns. The people of HSSM immediately went to his aid, they gave him pain medication and evaluated his condition. They had to make sure his vitals were okay.

Gage’s burns were severe so HSSM had to contact local veterinarian Dr. Jennifer Griffin of Happy Tails for hydrotherapy treatments.

Gage’s injuries may be severe, but although he appears damaged outside, his spirit was unshaken. He remained strong despite of what he’s been through.

Gage was very friendly, his body may hurt, but his tail was still wagging. He quickly became the staff’s favorite at HSSM.

After weeks of treatment, Gage was feeling a bit better.

Still nobody had any idea how Gage got his burn injuries. They considered that this may be from an act of animal cruelty.

Unfortunately, the couple couldn’t take care of Gage because they just lost everything in the fire. Gage recovered wonderfully, and was able to find a new home a little over a year later! Congratulations, Gage!
