Brian adopted Hugo when he was 8-weeks old. He instantly taught Hugo how to give hugs. Brian was surely in for a surprise when Hugo grew into a full-size dog that still wanted to hug his dad. Brian was in for a treat that would knock him off his feet. Literally.
Hugo gave gentle hugs until one day he discovered it was way more fun to hug his dad while running at full tilt. Brian had to learn how to brace for impact! The pup had grown to be 85 pounds and his gentle nature became more playful and silly.
Everything was fine until Hugo’s demeanor changed. Brian discovered that the pup went partially blind in his right eye and he had a hard time with depth perception. This affected how he operated around heights. But Brian wouldn’t allow this to affect Hugo so he happily became Hugo’s human step stool.
Hugo’s health declined further and Brian and his wife were faced with a major life decision. However, they swore they’d never give up on Hugo. What follows is so incredible, you have to see it for yourself! I’m team Hugo, are you?
