Dolphins are beloved creatures for a plethora of reasons. The highly intelligent and compassionate sea mammal thrives on social interaction amongst one another. While they rarely approach people, countless tales of human-dolphin interactions in the wild exist.
A rescue team from Rare Aquatics Species of Indonesia acted swiftly when a dolphin was trapped in shallow water. The poor dolphin had no idea what was going on and behaved accordingly. He responded as any scared animal would, fighting his saviors. They had no choice but to wrap him up safely and hold him down.
After heavy exertion from the entire team, they placed the dolphin inside their boat and continued to water him, avoiding his blowhole. They then raced out to sea. It took the rescuers 45 minutes to reach a deep enough spot to release him. Once they reached their destination, the team pulled the dolphin from the boat while petting him to alleviate some of his stress.
Will the dolphin remain calm enough to swim out to sea? You have to see the harrowing rescue for yourself. And be prepared to be at the edge of your seat for this one!
