When a debris fire broke out beneath a freeway, a frightened puppy found herself in a dangerous situation. Hiding in an ice cooler, the young pup was covered in black plastic. She suffered from burns on her back and belly. A kind-hearted firefighter came to her rescue just in time!
After rescue, he bathed her and cleaned her up. It didn’t take long for the firefighter to fall in love with the little girl, and he knew right away that he was going to keep her. Mike named the puppy Loki, after the Norwegian ‘God of Fire.’
Loki was adopted by her personal hero and was welcomed into her new home. She now has a big sister named Chunk. When Mike brought the tiny pup home, the whole family was overjoyed and couldn’t get over Loki’s undeniable cuteness.
Chunk welcomed the puppy with open paws and took Loki under her wing. The firefighter had also rescued Chunk five years ago when she was just three months old and struggling to survive. He was happy to give another Pit Bull a loving home since the breed is often misunderstood and unfairly judged.
The crew at the firehouse were always asking about the puppy, so Mike decided to bring Loki to work with him. Loki loves being part of the crew and has become a beloved member of the firehouse family.
This story serves as a reminder that there are many animals in need of rescue and loving homes. Pit Bulls, in particular, are often faced with discrimination and mistreatment. By giving Loki and Chunk a loving home, the firefighter has not only saved their lives but has also changed the narrative surrounding the breed.
