Last Saturday, nine Tornadoes passed through the Northern part of Texas. The town of Rowlett is one of many towns ravaged by the tornadoes.

Because of the tornado, the Berkshier family was separated from their two dogs, a yellow Lab named Sawyer, and a Chihuahua named Lucy. The couple who owned the dog were trapped under the rubble, and their family members came to rescue them. However, their dogs were nowhere to be found.

The family went back to their former home the next day to search for their beloved pets, but they couldn’t see or hear them. By Monday, the rains have stopped and the family went back to their house again. It was then that they finally heard their dog’s muffled barking underneath the rubble.

Sawyer the yellow lab was finally rescued after spending two days under the rubble, exposed to the cold and rainy weather. Miraculously, he wasn’t seriously hurt. Aside from the swelling that the vets are treating, Sawyer was doing okay.

While Sawyer was at the vet, the family was searching non-stop for little Lucy. And a few hours later, they heard Lucy’s cries, and they rescued her from wreckage as well.

Amazingly, after being checked by the vet, Lucy also survived without any serious injuries. The family couldn’t be any happier to find out that both of their beloved dogs were okay.

A lot of pets were separated and lost because of the tornadoes. A Facebook group, Lost & Found Pets from North Texas Tornadoes, has been made to help reunite pets with their owners.
