Buggy the Bulldog’s journey to a loving forever home was anything but easy. Born with deformities and abandoned in a dry creek bed, Buggy faced numerous challenges from the start. However, his incredible will to survive and the love and support of his foster and adoptive families have allowed him to thrive and become an inspiration to many.
When Buggy was first discovered, he was in rough shape. He was smaller than he should have been, had only one nostril, and his legs were dislocated. His breathing was restricted, making it difficult for him to do everyday activities and even sleep. Despite these challenges, Buggy’s eyes showed that he was a survivor and not willing to give up.
Buggy’s foster mom, Leslie, admitted that she didn’t think Buggy would make it at first. However, after undergoing multiple surgeries, Buggy slept soundly for the first time. When he woke up, there was no stopping him. His determination and spirit were evident, and it was clear that Buggy was a fighter.
Melissa, Buggy’s adoptive mom, had been following his story and knew that she wanted to give him a loving home. After speaking with Leslie, it was clear that Melissa was the perfect person to care for Buggy. Saying goodbye to Buggy was bittersweet for Leslie, but she knew that he would be well taken care of for the rest of his life.
Once in his new home, Buggy’s strong personality quickly emerged. He became the enforcer of the house and wasn’t afraid to stand up to his much larger canine sibling named Winston, who eventually became his best friend. Buggy’s energy and determination were contagious, and he quickly became a beloved member of the family.
Buggy’s favorite place to sleep is in a plastic crate, which has been affectionately named the “Buggy Box.” He has slept with his mouth open since he was a puppy, and his unique sleeping habits have become a source of amusement for his family.
Melissa doesn’t limit Buggy or hold him back from anything he wants to do. She believes in his abilities and allows him to be whoever he needs to be. Buggy’s story of survival is an inspiration! We are so grateful he’s living his best life despite all the obstacles he had to overcome.
