Whenever you buy products from the iHeartDogs store, part of that money goes to Greater Good Charities. Greater Good Charities is an organization that helps lots of animals in need, especially through its GOODS Program, which donates food and other essential supplies to shelters and rescues. Those donations support both dogs and the humans who love them.

Cricket is a sweet little dog who was rescued from a puppy mill where she bred puppies over and over again in horrific conditions. When St. Landry Parish Animal Control in Louisiana took Cricket into their care, they promised to help her be pampered and loved for the rest of her life.

Soon, a kind-hearted man adopted Cricket and gave her the loving home she deserved. But things quickly took a turn for the worse when Cricket’s dad was diagnosed with colon cancer. Due to the high cost of treatment, he worried he would have to surrender his beloved dog.

The animal shelter knew how much Cricket and her human loved each other, so they stepped up to help in any way possible. They donated food, treats, and a new bed to Cricket’s dad so he no longer had to worry about paying for Cricket’s needs. That way, he could save up money for his medical care without needing to part ways with his best friend.

Thanks to the generous donations, Cricket’s dad now has his canine companion by his side while he goes through treatment. St. Landry Parish Animal Control was able to provide those supplies to Cricket because of donations they receive from the GOODS Program. The organizations care about all their dogs, even after they’ve been adopted, so they didn’t hesitate to help Cricket’s adopter.

“The GOODS program has allowed our organization to give back to our small rescues that have put so much into our shelter. We have also been able to help people in the community keep their beloved pets when they have financial difficulty providing for their needs,” St. Landry Parish Animal Control wrote.
