There are few things more heartwarming than seeing a beautiful reunion between a dog and their family, but the struggle to get there isn’t so pretty. When a dog went missing four months prior, her family wasn’t sure if they’d ever see her again. The dog, Cali, was found by animal control and taken to a nearby shelter. She remained in a kennel, dreaming of the life she once had. Each day felt like an eternity, but little did she know that her family was going through the exact same thing. Cali was their world, and being away from her was heartbreaking.

They had no idea if she was injured or suffering on the streets alone. Their worries plagued them, often keeping them up at night. What if she never returned? What if they never saw her again? Their concerned thoughts were endless.

But then, her owners heard about a dog matching Cali’s description in a shelter, and they raced over. Cali was marched down a long hallway, unsure where it would lead. It turned out it led to the very thing she had been waiting months for: her family.

Her family, crouched down, eager to embrace her, called out, “Hi, pretty girl.” At first, Cali didn’t recognize them or their scent, but that all changed as her emotions took over. She happily jumped around, tail eagerly wagging, with a big smile on her adorable face. These good people were the epitome of ‘home.’ She barked over and over in celebratory fashion.

The caption in the video states, “For months, [the family] prayed for Cali’s return… and in a moment they can only describe as a miracle, Cali came home just as they discovered they were expecting a child.” Their first baby would be around to make their family complete. It doesn’t get better than this!
