Everyone, meet Ellie–a baby elephant who was rejected by his herd shortly after he was born.
Ellie was rescued by Karen Trendler and the people at the Thula Thula Rhino Orphanage. Ellie had several health issues, he had a large umbilical abscess, a naval/joint ill and septicemia. But thanks to his rescuers who spent months treating him, his condition is now stabilized.

But it’s not just his physical health that needed treating. Because he was rejected by his herd, Ellie also needed someone to heal his broken heart.

Awwww…they look so cute together, don’ they? Thanks to Duma, Ellie has a friend to cheer him up and keep him company!
