organicdogbiscuitstockphotoWith healthy eating being a priority for many people these days (and rightfully so!) it’s no wonder that we’re looking hard for the best foods to feed our dogs. Afterall, we want our furry family members to stay healthy and be around as long as possible! With the recent scares of so many dogs falling ill due to treats coming from China, dog owners everywhere have been looking for alternatives. But do we really know where pre-packaged treats are coming from, and what’s really in them?

Many people think it’s best not to risk it, and have started making their own dog treats. With the help of The Organic Dog Biscuit Cookbook, you should be good to go! This book is filled with excellent recipes focused on delicious, organic ingredients that are all perfectly safe and healthy for our dogs. Jessica Disbrow Talley and Eric Talley of the Bubba Rose Biscuit Company have put together over 100 dog biscuit recipes that can be easily made from ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen. And if not, it’s not hard to go get them. The use of organic ingredients is optional, but the book is focused on using the freshest, healthiest ingredients you can find.

Reading through some of these recipes makes you tempted to even make some for yourself! In fact, there’s really no reason you can’t eat many of the recipes. All dog owners love to share food with their dogs, and with The Organic Dog Biscuit Cookbook we can make a zucchini bread that will be safe for our dogs to eat – and yes, they love it as much as we love our version! There are recipes that use meat as well, including some homemade Turkey Jerky and The Nova Scotia Special – a lox, cream cheese and oat bran biscuit.

Not only is the book full of great recipes (many of which my own dogs have tried and loved), it’s got great information about some of the ingredients and why they are safe and even beneficial to our dogs. You’d never guess it’s safe to use white chocolate in moderation, but since white chocolate is not really chocolate at all, small amounts are safe for our pups to eat. You’ve probably never fed your dog any peppermint treats either, but just as in humans, it can aid the digestive tract of our dogs and promote fresh breath as well!

The Organic Dog Biscuit Cookbook is highly recommended as a fun, safe, and delicious way to pamper our beloved canines. No more worrying about dangerous treats and mystery ingredients from store-bought treats. These recipes are simple and easy, and require not much but a little cooking effort on your part and a hungry dog. So put on that apron, grab a copy of The Organic Dog Biscuit Cookbook and explore your dog’s palate with these enticing and healthy treats! It’s a great way to give your dogs some extra antioxidants and energy-boosting goodness, and an even better way to bond with your canine best friends.
