Deaf Foster Dog Saves Her Family From Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Rescue a dog and he will save you in return.

A family in Cleveland is very thankful for the deaf dog they fostered. That’s because their foster dog saved their lives from carbon monoxide poisoning.

The Shuckerow family fostered Dulce, a deaf Dalmatian-Pit Bull mix. One morning, Dulce’s foster mom, Ashley Shuckerow, woke up to Dulce scratching and whining in her crate. Dulce was making a ruckus, which was very unusual. Ashley says that Dulce usually sleeps like a rock, and she was behaving very differently that morning. And that was because Dulce’s nose has detected that carbon monoxide has been flowing inside the house.

Tune in tonight to WKYC Cleveland Channel 3 at 11pm to see the story of how adoptable Dulce saved her foster family’s lives!! She is a wonderful ambassador for bully breeds and deaf dogs everywhere!!!

When Ashley went downstairs, the house was really cold. Then she realized that the furnace wasn’t working. She quickly called a repair man who told her that the furnace has been blowing carbon monoxide inside the house.
