Dog Dad Makes Sure His Pup Is Prepared for Life With Some Very Important Talks

Sometimes, the most important relationship in a person’s life begins quietly, with no way of knowing just how much it will eventually mean. For Oaduk, adopting a dog named Duke brought companionship into his home at a time when he desperately needed something steady to hold onto. Oaduk believes Duke understands him in a way that can be difficult to explain. Their bond has become so meaningful that he says they “complete each other.” Looking back at the difficult period when Duke first entered his life, Oaduk credits his dog with helping him through some of his darkest moments.
