iHeartDogs readers have been helping support The Shelter Transport Animal Rescue Team (START) through the Second Chance Movement. START provides transport for at-risk pets in high-risk shelters, and finds them a safe place in a no-kill facility.
Tuco was in a kennel at a San Bernardino, CA Shelter. He was found as a stray and taken in, but once his stray hold was up, he’d be in danger of being euthanized if not adopted. This amazing but sad boy had no rescue interest and was in danger of losing his precious life to shelter overcrowding.
START board member, Linda R., had a friend who saw his shelter photo online and immediately fell in love with him, reaching out to START for assistance in bringing Tuco to their family. After several phone calls, and with a local transporter and the stars aligned, Tuco went to his new home in Woodland Hills, CA.
