Steve Shelafoe is a sanitation worker in Phoenix, Arizona. As a sanitation collector, he sees a lot of strange stuff thrown in the trash. But he was shocked to see a dog at the back of his truck, moments away from being killed by the trash compactor.
Steve told Fox News, “At first I thought he was just a stuffed animal, because he wasn’t really moving, and then as I stopped it then he jumped up on top and started walking around.”

Thanks to Steve, Hopper is safe. And after just being together for a short time, the two have formed a strong bond.
We sure hope that this poor dog will find a loving home and a family that will take care of him.
