Mr. Fitzwater works at a coal mine, and one day he noticed a dog hanging around. He didn’t think much of it until he saw her a few more times and she started coming up to him. He figured she must be homeless, so he brought her home! Someone had abandoned the dog there to fend for herself, but now Sadie Kate has her place in the world. 🙂
And every day, she waits for Dad to come home from work. Sara Fitzwater watches as Sadie Kate sits in the driveway patiently awaiting that truck to pull up!
