A young Crawford County, Indiana dog named Buddy was abandoned in a particularly cruel manner. The family moved out, and left him locked in a chain-link pen in the blazing summer heat with no water or shade. A neighbor contacted River Valley Humane Society, and they began the process of saving Buddy.
Seeing as Buddy was in such bad shape after being left to the elements, staff immediately put him on a diet of high quality dog food donated by Rescue Bank, a Signature Program of GreaterGood.org.
Not only does quality pet food keep a shelter pet’s body and mind operating at high levels to improve the chances of adoption, the donated food also allows the shelter or rescue to redirect funds to help more animals in need like Buddy.
After a short time on his new diet, Buddy was in great health. It didn’t take long for him to find his forever home. His new family enjoys hiking, and they look forward to taking Buddy along with their Labrador Retriever as they enjoy the beautiful trails of Southern Indiana!
