Meet Frederico Alfredo, a kind-hearted therapy dog who dedicates his time to brightening the lives of patients in hospitals near his home in Brazil. With his owner, Jamili Saade, by his side, Frederico takes great pride in spreading comfort, joy, and warmth to those who need it most. His visits often leave patients smiling, their spirits lifted by his gentle demeanor. However, not long ago, Frederico found himself on the receiving end of a touching surprise—a joyful and unexpected reunion with a family member he hadn’t seen in ages.

Shortly after Saade adopted Frederico from another state, she learned that one of his brothers, Tunico Bastos, had been adopted by another family. Although the siblings lived in different cities, the two families stayed connected. In 2023, Saade and her husband, along with Frederico, traveled to meet Tunico and his family. “We became good friends,” Saade told The Dodo in an interview. “[This year] we invited them to visit us in our city.”

Shortly after being released, he became overcome by rage and frustration and began violently wailing on his poor, trembling, frightened dog. It's clear that this man's violent tendencies didn't decrease after serving his time.

As Tunico and his family prepared to visit, Frederico eagerly awaited their arrival at the airport. True to his personality, he greeted his brother in style—holding a “PAW Patrol” balloon and a personalized placard that read Tunico’s name. The sight was enough to draw smiles from the crowd gathered in the airport.

Frederico’s anticipation for his brother’s arrival is too darn cute:

When Tunico finally arrived, the brothers wasted no time rekindling their bond. “They stayed with us for a week,” Saade said. “We visited many sites throughout the city.” The reunion was filled with sibling energy—equal parts affection and rivalry. “They got on each other’s nerves,” Saade laughed, “but it was funny.”

During their week together, Frederico and Tunico reminded everyone of the unbreakable connection between siblings, even those separated by distance. We are sure there will be many more visits to come where both pups can grow even closer (and annoy each other more).
