When a new pet is introduced into the home, some things can go wrong, but more often, many things go right! Even though dogs and cats aren’t the same species, they continue to amaze us with their willingness to share the same space– even evolving into close friends. Take the pair in the adorable video below. A Golden Retriever is introduced to his new kitten sibling. He rests his head on the couch, curiously staring at the feline. He’s unsure what this tiny creature is but is eager to find out. What do you think his opinion of this wee-one will be?

Dogs never fail to wow us. He may be 75 pounds, but he doesn’t allow that to affect his gentle nature around the one-pound kitten. He longingly looks into her eyes as she bounds over to properly introduce herself. The dog is astonished. Although she’s minuscule compared to him, she doesn’t act like it. She gets super close to sniff the pup and say hello.

The kitten raises a paw at the Golden as if she’s waving to him. The pup is smitten, allowing the tiny baby to brush against and snuggle into his neck. Their love is already blossoming. And just like that, the kitten turns into a feisty little thing. She bounces on his head and face, pawing at his nose.

Once she tires out, the sweetest thing occurs. The kitten crawls to the dog, tucks herself into his body, and falls asleep. The pup’s response is too precious to miss! Watch the entire interaction in the video below. It’s both relaxing and uplifting. Click play and get ready to say ‘awwww.’
