Did you know food donations made to animal rescue groups are about more than just filling hungry bellies? When a rescue doesn’t have to spend as much cash on food, they can spend more on vet care, allowing them to save more canine lives. And did you also know that you are a HUGE part of funding the donations that make such a difference? When you shop with iHeartDogs, every single purchase provides donations for canines in need. Whether you purchase a cute dog shirt for yourself or supplements for your dog, that cart full of goodies gives compassion. Through our partnership with Greater Good Charities and their GOODS Program, we ensure dogs in need receive food and other necessities.

The GOODS Program distributes pet food to shelters and rescues across the country and has been keeping hungry bellies full for over a decade. To date, the GOODS Program has delivered over 578 million meals to shelters and rescues nationwide. That’s more than 6,000 truckloads of necessities provided to animals in need. And pups Ulysses and Grant want you to know how much they appreciate your help.

Two Pups Who’ve Got It Good Now

Before coming into the care of Henryetta Animal Aid and Rescue Team, Ulysses and Grant had it pretty rough. They had a house, but one couldn’t call their situation home, as they weren’t allowed the comfort of indoors. Instead, the Henryetta team revealed, “Ulysses and Grant were tied up to a porch of a filthy yard and home and were tangled together without food, water, or shelter.”

These poor pups were crying with anguish as the Oklahoma winter had been a bitter one. With the threat of twenties looming, “they would have died if left there.”

But that’s not Ulysses and Grant’s reality now. Thanks to rescue magic, this puppish pair “are fully vetted and are anxiously awaiting their new home while having plenty of food now thanks to the GOODS Program!”

And while these two were eating and getting care, so were other dogs in need. The GOODS Program helps Henryetta Animal Aid and Rescue Team and so many other rescues save their much-needed cash for the medical care most dogs need upon arrival.

“We are saving around $1200 a month, which provides for more vetting and other supplies that we need to help get them adopted.”

That’s a big chunk of change saved, and because you shopped with us, you helped them hold onto that money. So, treat yourself and your dog to something new and know you’re saving dogs in need.
