Everyone, meet Charlie–a Dachshund who was hailed as a hero after his barking saved a man’s life from a fire.
In Newfoundland Canada, a two-storey house was on fire at around 3 in the morning. The only person in the house at that time was a tenant living in the basement apartment, and with him was a Dachshund named Charlie. The man was asleep by the time the fire broke out. He was woken up not by the smoke alarm, but because of Charlie’s incessant barking. When he woke up, the basement was already covered with pitch black smoke. He was lucky that Charlie the Dachshund was there to warn him about the fire, or he wouldn’t have gotten out in time.
